Kick off the new year in the New Forest

Start as you mean to go on by visiting the New Forest early on in the year. Anyone who’s planning to start 2024 with a healthy regime will love to some of the winter walks you can do here in the New Forest. From family ambles to longer distance coastal routes that’ll really blow the cobwebs away, take your pick from our interactive walks today.

Keen motorcyclists should definitely join in with annual Sammy Miller Motorcycle Museum’s New Year’s Day ride-in with special admission to the museum at just £7 that day. However, if you can’t make that date then be sure to check out Sammy Miller Museum’s packed programme of events for the year.

Check out the reopening of New Park Manor Hotel

Due to undergo a huge refurbishment from January onwards, uber family-friendly New Park Manor Hotel is set to re-open on 1 April. Book your family break there for a late spring holiday and make the most of the hotel’s easy access to Paultons Park and other family attractions.

Big dates for the diary

We’ve got a diary full of events and activities taking place throughout 2024 from our big show-stopping shows to smaller, one-off events.

Arguably the biggest event in the New Forest calendar is the New Forest & Hampshire County Show (30, 31 July and 1 August). Bringing with it arena displays, a craft village, agricultural showings and much more, you will have great fun learning more about the New Forest ways of life here.

Set to return to Burley Park, in the heart of the New Forest, Dogstival (1-2 June) is a big festival of all things four-legged related. Bring your pooch along for lots of doggie fun.

Lymington Seafood Festival is back on 12, 13 & 14 July! Plus. The New Forest Food Festival will be going ahead on 17-18 August. Rich in local produce, artisan food producers and makers and internationally-renowned chefs and restaurants, this festival will showcase the best in local food and crafts.

Exciting new developments at Paultons Park

Junior thrill seekers will love the changes to Paultons Park with the arrival of the new Splash Lagoon in May! This exciting mini flume ride promises a roaring good time for the entire family. Traverse gentle rapids, discover new species of dinosaur and finally hold on for an exciting drop as you descend into the prehistoric lagoon below.

Paultons Park is also adding ring-tailed lemurs to the park’s animals. Plus, the Station Restaurant is currently under refurbishment and will open in 2024 as the ‘Grande Central’.

Big changes are coming to Beaulieu

A major project is underway to transform Beaulieu National Motor Museum. For the first phase, which will lead into 2024, the Brabazon restaurant and the museum entrance will be updated.

Beaulieu is set to host a whole range of events throughout the year including its popular car meets as well as the return of the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair (3-5 May).

Plan some New Forest adventures

Visit Avon Tyrrell nestled in the New Forest National Park, the perfect spot for friends and families to enjoy time together. Their Go Adventure activities start at just £14pp and you can take on their tree top trail, archery, lake activities and so much more! Bike hire and accommodation is also on-site.
